Little back story. Since I got the boat and motor in Feb 2014 here is what I've done. I've cleaned tank, replaced fuel bulb and relocated back near motor so its vertical, replaced fuel lines from tank to motor and under cowling, replaced fuel water separator, changed low and high pressure filters, replaced fuel pump, replaced spark plugs and took out vst tank replaced needle and seat. Motor has run great since but now when I throttle down boat jumps up and gets to 5800 rpms and then surges up and down. You can watch the tach and the needle moves 100 or so rpms at a time until it reaches 5100 rpms. Now if I take off and hold the throttle around 20mph it runs fine. So tomorrow in taking water separator off and checking the fuel inside. Anyone have any other ideas. Maybe trash in high pressure filter? Any help would be appreciated.
