Done all the troubleshooting , the FVS is bust, trying to get an outboard mechanic to get down and fix it but im in the Bahamas and they arn't very good at answering phones and the other one we can find goes on holiday tomorrow. . I can get the part shipped in from the US by tues/wed. There is somewhere very close to haul out, but is it a doable job for someone with some knowledge, since i have to take off the intake manifold and remove the injector assembly. . Im supposed to be using it for a week from Friday so on a time constraint! I have on my order list the VTS part, gasket for air intake and gasket/orings for the injectors that all need to be replaced as i pull it apart.
Any parts that may be tricky to get on/off that i should be aware of? Plan is to haul out day before or morning off, tear down, when part clears custom start re-installing. If i can also get the oil and filters on island ill do that oils as well since its nearly 6 months since the last change.
Taking a big fold down table to put all tools on, sockets, screwdrivers, hammer, pliers, multimeter, rags, wd40/PB Buster, allen keys, what else might i need, ill be working at a haul out storage area so no workshop/tools on site, have to take everything with me.
I am a "Marine Engineer" but never torn such a big bit off an outboard or in an area where there are no spare parts easily available, even if i lose a bolt its a mission to get the right replacement here.
Engine is around 900 hours built in 2011.
