I have a 2006 DF250 with 760 hours. Never had a problem until this point. Recently I idled out of no wake zone. Went to jump up on plane, throttled up, halfway up on plane the engine revved up, stopped for forward progress, and quit pumping water. The motor cranks and idles fine but does not pump water and will not turn the prop. I took it to a local mechanic and was told that the crankshaft and driveshaft splines are worn. He also said that these two parts would need to be replaced as well as many others associated with the crankshaft. Should this happen on a motor with 760 hours and have any of you heard of this happening before?
