  • Df115a ecm won't reset

I installed a new IAC valve and now the EMC won't let me reset my idle.
The procedure I have is you start the motor and turn the ignition key 5 times and you should get an alarm from the EMC to reset the idle to 650 + or minus 50, then after you have reset open the throttle and that will cancel the IAC fix mod.

I never get an alarm from ECM, is there some kind of reset for the ECM???

I'm down here in Mulege, BAJA and don't have an option the take it to the Dealer/Shop????

    Couple of questions
First would be why you replaced this valve in such a remote place?
Was the engine not idling correctly
Some of the problems that have been discussed deal with a dirty air passage
And making sure the by-pass air screw is clean
Then just how far off is the idle speed?
But to answer parts of the question
#1 Are you allowing the engine to warm up first?
#2 engine speed needs to have stabilized itself
#3 making sure the throttle link mechanism moves freely
I suppose if this is not seating correctly the engine won't set a constant 10% value to the IAC valve

Indicates removal of fuel hose guard
Shift into neutral And close the throttle fully- causing a full close throttle signal to be input to the ECM
Then turn the ignition switch from on to start 5 times in a 10 second period
You should then get the alarm you are looking for
Should stay in this condition for five minutes or opening the throttle will automatically cancel the fixed mode
My guess is your throttle is not being fully closed before you try to set the IAC valve or possibly the signal from the TPS sensor is not getting to the ECM, so you may need to check continuity of that wire
Let us know if that works or not
