Just mounted my new df30 weird question

So I filled up the motor with oil and haven't connected any gas at all. I went to crank it a couple times to get oil in the filter and it started right up. My thought was maybe they are shipped with some sort of lubricant to keep the cylinders lubricated? Anyone know?

Probably fuel left in the VST after the initial test run at the factory.
