Cleaning Engine Block Exterior

Have a pair of 300Ap;s that I want to remove the engine covers and clean(detail) prior to spraying with Boeshield. Don't want to spray any water which would wet any electrical components. Has anyone used a spray cleaner to do this with any success or should I just wipe down the best I can with dry cloth before spraying the Boeshield?

Hosing it down won't hurt it. All sealed.

Well....... don't shoot water into the intake.

I remove the cowling & hose my DF-175 off

with fresh water

every chance I get . I also lube the cable bell crank & coat all with corrosion guard. Has 2100 hrs Zero ill effects!
