Digital clocks

Hi all ,new here,I have just bought a boat with twin 90 lean burn,which I also got digital clocks,my question is can I programme the amount of fuel I put in tank to come up on clocks,ie 100ltrs,can this be done,any help would be great,

It may be helpful for us to know what kind of gauge you are using and how its connected.

Thanks for the reply , I have two Suzuki multi function gauges for twin DF90A engines , not very technical when it comes to how they are connected but looks as if its connected by NMEA2000 set up ,I can see t-connectors at back of console ,I also have a t-connector and drop cable for my garmin 7412 which I would also like to connect , any help would be great ,regards ,

Dezzer, there are two varieties of Suzuki digital engine data displays used in the USA (if that is where you are). All of them will only work if they are connected to a NMEA2000 network and the engines are also connected to the network.

The old SMIS displays (monochrome) are one option - theyre based on the Lowrance LMF400 displays, and the new colour Suzuki C-10 displays are the current option most US dealers use.

Outside the USA, the rest of the world uses a new special OEM colour Suzuki display. As mentioned in the other thread you posted on, they are totally different in the way they are connected, configured and operate to the US models.

So you need to be very clear with us about exactly which gauges you have if we are going to be able to help you. As you can see, "digital displays" could be one of several displays.

Putting that aside, if this is a new boat, did your dealer not walk you through how the system works? They should have set the system up and shown you what to do when you refuel, and also should have provided you with the operators manuals for the displays as well.

None of that happen for you?

If you did the engine and gauge/display installation yourself, you would have got the gauge owners manual that tells you what to do to set the gauges??

Anyway, see the "sticky" thread at the top section of this forum where I wrote an article on Suzuki NMEA2000 networks, it tells you quite a bit about how the system works and how to configure and set up the gauges and so on.

Then if you need more info, it would be best to call your dealer and get them to walk you thru how the displays have been set up and how to add fuel.

Here is some general guidance on adding fuel:
For both the SMIS and C-10 gauges, when you refuel the boat you have to turn the keys on for both engines, (engines don't have to be running though) and in one of the gauges, go into the menu, find the fuel menu, select refuel and then you have two options -

If you have filled the tank/s to full, you can select that and it will reset the tanks to their full capacity. The tank capacity is set when the system is first set up.

Or, if you've only partly filled the tanks, you can select a partial fill and then input the number of gallons/litres you added. The system they adjusts the fuel used/remaining figures to account for how much you added.

thanks for the reply moonlighter ,I have went to menu with keys on and cannot find anything for fuel menu that would allow me to enter the amounts of fuel ,although it has to be there somewhere , regards...

Ok, now that you've told me you are in Ireland, you will likely have the new international Suzuki displays, as per this link

That being the case, no, you can't add fuel or do a partial fill, you can only reset it to full.

This gauge only reports "fuel used". It will not report fuel remaining. When you refill you have to simply refuel and it will zero it out and it starts again reporting fuel used.

I don't like that you cant add fuel for a partial fill, but I'm told that is simply how it is.

Thanks moonlight ,was beginning to get to me,but still can't even set it to full as like indicater on picture,that does not even come up on gauges,just amount used..

Can you reset to full, so amount used changes to zero? Should be able to do that.

Can't seem to do anything with the fuel,is there any instructions or a step by step way to do this as I can't font anything,have tried both gauges incase one was a master,regards..

Either talk to your dealer to get their assistance, or refer to the operators manual that should have come with the gauges.
