  • 07 250 leaking oil

I have a 2007 250hp that is really giving me the blues. It has 1400 hrs on it. Last sept(2015) I was loading the boat (33' worldcat) onto trailer on one engine. Left engine had gave up the ghost. While mechanic was checking and rebuilding left engine he checked ft one as well and found busted head gasket. So left engine is completely rebuilt and runs great. Starboard motor hasn't been right since. It ran rough and had oil leak that he had me nurse thru mid summer when snapper season ended. I took it back to shop on July 22, he had it til after Labor Day. Put it back in water, runs good but still leaking oil. He came to slip today, agrees its leaking. Looks to be somewhere near bottom outside main bolts thru crankcase. Checked those. All snug and dry. All gaskets look clean. Sprayed powdered deodorant looking for leaks and found nothing obvious. Anyone have any suggestions because he doesn't.

    Have 07 DF140 had leak

I had a DF140 that leaked oil. It was a hole that developed on a cover plater under the power head inside the oil pan. Look at #18 on the attached diagram. That is the plate that developed a hole.

How do you know it's leaking, just see it low on the dip stick? I had the o-ring on my oil cooler break once, and I would just notice an oily sheen on the water.
