Do you lock your outbound with the lock tap when in transit?

No. Even with a relatively small motor (DF25A), I leave my motor resting on a "transom saver" while trailering the boat.

Ok, well I just got a new boat with a Suzuki 250ss and the deal tells me I don't need to use a transom saver or lock the motor in the up right position .

My Owners manual clearly states DO NOT TRAILER with the tilt up lock arm. It shows a picture of a transom saver. I use a piece of wood, ideally the motor should be trimmed down if your trailer is high enough. Another train of thought, with the engine tilted fully up the bouncing around puts excessive strain on your transom. True or not I don’t know but I’m a true believer of “What can go wrong will go wrong”
