  • Oil pressure warning light

Just fitted a 250df, 2014 ...oil pressure light and audible warning came on. Carried out pressure check at 3000 revs, sitting at just under 90psi. So changed pressure switch, audible warning has stopped but warning light still on. So carried out reset using kill switch three times but light still remains on, anyone have any ideas to what the problem is? Cheers.

That’s strange, once you get the oil pressure within factory specifications the alarm should stop. I’m assuming your oil pressure is around 36 psi? The reset feature is the rest the ECM’s internal clock to remind you of the next oil change(100 hours)

Oil pressure is close to factory. When idle around 47psi and at 3000rpm 90psi

When you say a refit what do you mean, and have you changed any wiring, remove the wire of the sender and turn the key on and see if the light is still on, also connect up a digital multimeter and check what voltage is coming out of the wire key on.

Original wiring loom came with engine, so never need to do anything with it apart from plug in and wire to power source. Also checked voltage at switch coming in at five volts

Sorry the 36psi I quoted above was wrong, should be 57-85psi @3000RPM

The reset procedure should be done quickly. Within 3 seconds. Most of the time when people do the reset they are to slow
