New to me 87 dt25 long shaft tune up

I just picked up an 87 dt 25 and it runs but needs a tune up I planned on changing the impeller on the water pump and spark plugs probably a carb clean just looking for any advice or tips on a tune up or some general info about the motor

You say it needs a tune up? What does that mean, as to how the motor is running? A little info here could help? A little history on motor, and what's been done, is also very important?

The motor must need a carb cleaning, or may have had one? Do not mixup parts between the carbs. Has the fuel pump ever been checked, or replaced?

I don't have much history on the motor besides it being an 87 as far as I know nothing has ever been done to it at least that's what I going to assume it runs good actually I put some good gas to it and it fired up second pull it has been sitting for a few years and could use some tic is what the guy I bought it from said
