Voltage Drop

Greetings All,
I have a 2008 DF200. When I turn the power switch on, the meter reads 12.5 to 13 volts. The engine starts, but the voltage then reads 5 volts. With the engine off it reads 12.5 to 13 volts even when I turn accessories and lights on. When I plug my iPad into the charging port the meter again drops to 5V. Any ideas?

Have you had a multimeter on the battery terminals while reading 5V to verify voltage ?
