I have twin ‘17 DF140 motors with 60 hours. They share the same fuel tank. The boat was last run in November’19 and was started for the first time this year last weekend. The port engine starts fine and operates in forward/reverse with no issues. The starboard motor starts fine but cuts out at 3000 rpm going forward. In reverse it does not cut out at all. Easily goes above 4000 rpm. Is it possible for the motor to cut out in only one direction? I’ve run the controls multiple times in each direction to see if it free’s up the switch with no changes. Any ideas or suggestions?

After it set up so long, did you change the water separator? I did not fish a year while we built our home. When i returned it to service it started, idled, but when reved up it sputtered like crazy and would not plane. The water separator had rust formed in the top and was spilling over into fuel line.
