Dear all,
I just have a problem with my 1985 DT55 and the kill switch at the remote.
I bought the boat and the outboard and during my last trip I found out, that the kill switch has no function.
I could turn off the key without any reaction to the motor.
I expect it is bridged.
Now my question for testing the new switch.
Can I test the switch without putting the motor in the water, because I so not have water close to the boats garage.
Is the kill switch contact necessary for turning of the starter motor or is it only inhibit the ignition circuit, means the starter can turn but motor will never start.
Please help me.
