  • Df250 no power to guages

    I have a 2005 df250 on a 2005 seapro 238wa.
The engine seems to be running fine.
The problem is I have no power to the alarm guage to the right of my steering wheel nor the tach, fuel guage or voltmeter that are in the cockpit area above and to the right of the steering wheel, The power to the alarm guage seems to come from the back towards the engine, there is a red and black wire coming from the alarm guage up to the tach that then piggy backs to the other guages. My friend seems to think that a relay in the engine compartment has the alarm guage inop. The lights on the alarm guage usually blink a few times then dissapear when the ignition is turned on. Help!

I would check the fuses first..
that power lead should run through a fused switch or have an inline fuse.
then check the black wire to make sure it is grounding out correctly
then would follow the red lead back to the battery and look for splices or bad and maybe corroded connections

Found the culprit, bad bullet connection that was not waterproof had pulled the wire out with vibration and seas no doubt. your advice got me away from the motor and back behind the helm where the problem wire was found, many thx
