Suzuki SMIS Engine Interface Cable

I have a twin engine boat with two df300 Suzuki outboard motors. Unfortunately one engine is from 2009 (30001F-980...) and the other is from 2007 (30001Z-780...). I would like to connect the engines with a raymarine gps by NMEA 2k network, so I need to buy the Suzuki SMIS Engine Interface Cable. The question is, will the cable Part No: 990C0-88149-294 be suitable for the 2007 engine? and if not what do you suggest?

That cable is very unlikely to work satisfactorily with a 2009 engine, let alone a 2007. I have tried running version 294 with a 2010 engine and it was unstable to the point of being unuseable.

the best choice would be to get an old version cable and run software version 2.30 or 2.5.0. They sre not made any longer and are extremely hard to secure.
