  • Routing Fuel Hose DF200

Have to change out the section of fuel hose from primer bulb into the motor and then on to the low pressure filter. Has anyone done this with one continuous run of 3/8 fuel Jose and if so how did you keep the hose from crimping? I have a temporary run that actually goes upward and across running through a hook that's on the motor that's for hoisting the motor on/off. Then hose runs downward to the low pressure filter. That's opposite of the factory fuel line. The factory hose is a molded hose. I really don't like it that way. Any tips? PS-routing it into the motor is a double barreled Bitch.

I wouldnt run it up higher than the filter then back down. It could trap air. Mine runs through the lower cowling then up to filter. Its not a molded hose it just has a gradual 90. more like two 45s going up to filter.

You are right. It isn't ideal the way I have it now. Just curious how you got it through the big rubber escushion where everything enters the motor? It's like pushing a rope. You get nowhere fast. I guess I ought to order a replacement hose made to fit with all the correct bends.

Take off the lower cowls from the motor, it is only about 8 or 10 bolts that hold them on. Use a small socket on an extension to undo them rather than a screwdriver, far easier as they can be very tight.

Then, that rubber grommet that everything goes thru including the fuel hose can be opened up into segments and the hose will then go through very easily indeed.

Piece of cake. Youre trying to do it the hard/impossible way at the moment!
