  • Throttle Tension Adjustment DL140

New to the forum and was hoping to solve a two year issue. I have a 2013 DL140 powering a 26' AquaPatio Pontoon, my issue is that when I apply full throttle forward my control handle always creeps back losing anywhere from 500 - 1000 RPM. Question: Is this normal or is there a tension screw within the housing I can tighten a little?

There is a tension screw, but it might help if we know what control you're using.

On the deck mounted control there is s friction/ tension screw at the base under the cover, turn a quarter turn CW and see if that is enough.

On the side mount control, I believe there is a small screw on the front of the control box.

Post back, someone should be able to help, if this doesn't. I think you mean you have a DF 140 also.

Your absolutely correct, the engine is indeed aDF 140...Typo. I have a Suzuki control box that is mounted on the side console on a 45 degree angle. Looked quickly at the box prior to my posting and didn't see an outside adjustment screw, will take another look tomorrow though. Thank You.
