Twin 2006 DF 175s. 1300 hours on motors. Stb engine threw a 3-2 alarm, started running really bad so I shut it down, puffed white smoke out at cut off. Would restart rough but only for a second or two and puff white smoke. Swapped out map sensor just for grins and disconnected batteries. Tried again same problem. Sensor ok, and no carbon buildup blocking little hole. Mechanic found irregular holes in plastic side cover below flush out plug on both engines. I took all the cowlings/covers off today and discovered a hole below the exhaust flush out. I know the plug problem was for the 90-140's, but there isn't a plug on the 175. Prime fishing here right now. Not looking forward to losing the rest of the summer. Will keep the post updated on repairs. I'll get the pic up in a minute.

Thanks for that link. I've been reading up on the corrosion issue as much as possible before we haul the boat(hopefully Monday). A lot of 90-140 issues with the plug but not much info. on 175s. How much were your repairs if you don't mind me asking? Will post pics once we get them torn down.
