Hi,
I have a 2015 Suzuki DT200A (that's the four cylinder 200 hp) that has not been running right since I did the last oil change. The motor has under 100 hours. The motor starts fine but idles a bit rough, acceleration is sluggish and top RPM are down about 1,000. That is I used to get about 5,900 at WOT, now all I can get is maybe 4,800 or 4,900. Also, my motor is white and I have a lot more black residue around the exhaust then I normally get.
I'm thinking a fuel problem. The motor has never seen ethanol, only REC 90 gas and I always add Stabil and Mercury Quickleen to the gas. I've just opened and drained the VST tank (it looked very clean inside) and replaced the high pressure fuel filter. I've also replaced the low pressure filter. I've replaced the water separator several times and today I put the motor on a separate six gallon tank to isolate it from my boats fuel system and saw no change or improvement.
Is there anything else I can try before I give up and drag the boat to a dealer?
Thanks for your help,
Fritz
