DF200 clutch dog wear concern?

In teaching my wife how to drive the boat, she initially did not grasp the idea of swiftly shifting it into gear and instead slowly shifted causing the gears to grind a bit for a couple of seconds. This happened twice. I am assuming, as long as it doesn't happen frequently, the engine is fine? It drove well afterwards. Thanks.

Yes it's probably fine, that happens a lot. If you see a lot of metal on lower unit drain screw magnet when changing lower unit oil then might have problem but other than that probably ok.
