Rev limit light on tach

2005 suzuki df 200 rev limit light stays on , after system check and stays on while engine running ,wont let me run more than 2000 rpms. I disconnected 4 wire white connector behind tach , turn key on all other warning lights off during system check but not rev limit light could it be the tachometer thanks

Could it be neutral switch on motor needing adjustment?

Not digital, tach after system check tach goes to 0 rev light on, starts tach starts at 0 moves normal than before 2000 rpms shuts motor down to around 1300 rpm ,can run at that all day no other problems. Tach was getting stuck sometimes

Cant find wire for rev limit light thanks
