  • dt4 carburetor float chamber adjustment screw.

What is the dt4 carburetor float chamber adjustment screw for and how do you adjust it?

You could help us by letting us know what year this motor is, and a little more about what you're having problems with. A few pics might help us a little more with what screw this is too. I wouldn't change any adjustments until you have the manual for your motor.

Good luck, post back on what you have.

Hi, It's a 1986 4 hp Suzuki, the adjuster screw on the carb bowl called an adjuster in the diagram. I don't know what it's for or how to adjust it.
I'm having problem with getting the engine to idle, it rev's fine. I cleaned the carb but it still won't idle, also it will only start with the choke on. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Having trouble uploading picture, file over 2MB.

      Thanks

There is no float adjuster screw in this carb. If it doesn't run at idle then the cleaning is most likely not done. Check the pilot- and main jets but also the inner orifices. Soak the carb in cleaner again. Also check the pilot air screw, remove it and also blow out that hole. If all is assembled again, turn in the pilot air screw until it stops (don't force it!). The turn it out 2 complete turns to start with. If all is oke then the motor will start. If so, final adjustments can be made.
