  • 2011 DF140 Oil Pressure

    Hi, Folks...
    New to the forum.

Is there an oil pressure sending unit on a 2011 DF140? I know there is an oil pressure switch, but while re-setting my SMIS to show engine temp and oil pressure, the pressure gauge showed "zero". I recently conducted an oil and filter change so I know there's plenty of oil.

Additionally, the engine temp read 150 - 152F. That would seem about right for a surface water temp of 70-ish.

    Thanks in advance...

Oil pressure is not a data item measured by the engine or sent to the network, so it will not show up on the SMIS display. So relax, you do not hane zero oil presure!

    Your temps look very normal.

No oil pressure reading, unless you install sender and gauge. it's possible to do, but not supplied by Suzuki.

        Thanks, Gents..

That was my guess, just needed confirmation. The SMIS manual I have is not exactly user friendly. Issue started with the SMIS re-setting itself to the "duh" mode and I had to start all over.

While I have you, I use the engine useage as the "fuel level source". That seems to be working OK; registers full tank, gallons used, etc., but the Miles/gal or gal/Mi does not seem to function...just blank and blinking. The GPS registers on the network and Ground Speed on the SMIS matches with my plotter (separate GPS). Am I missing a cleverly hidden sequence of button machinations?

"Economy Speed Source" pg 33 of your manual.
