DF90 Idle issues. HELP!

When I got the boat out this year it would start and idle at 2000rpms. So I took off IAC valve and cleaned it (it was open quite a bit) got it closed started motor and it would start and die. So I got a new IAC valve put it on and the same problem. Starts and dies. If I push throttle up it will start idle and rev up fine. Anybody have an idea????

From what you are describing it sounds like an iac problem, it might only need an air bypass screw adjustment. There are two different procedures for this on early engines and late engines. It could also be a temp sensor problem with the signal voltage too high.
