  • DT25 2- stroke CDI

Hello, I hope somebody can help with my no spark problem.

    I hought a boat with a 25hp 2-stroke Suzuki DT25 from the 1980's.

The wiring had all been dis-connected in the engine and I have a manual showing the 4 wires coming out of the CDI unit.

One of these is green, which the manual shows as going to the "neutral Select Switch - NSI".

There is no NSI on this engine. Does anyone know if this wire can just be left free?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this an electric start, with a tiller handle?
How sure are you the CDI is bad (why you have no spark)?

If this is a tiller handle model, and no electric start, then it might be OK to leave the wire loose. If you have the manual, there should be a wiring schematic that will tell you where that green wire goes. It may also be part of the kill switch? If the NSI (NSS?) Is an option, it should show in the schematic.

Post back when able. Good luck.
