2012 DF-175 Anti Cav plate cracked

I just spent 2 days repairing (tig welding) my lower unit.
While sitting in the slip I always tilt the motor up out of the salt water, some non driving Idiot hit my motor, bent the prop, cracked the anti cav. plate.
That Suzuki casting is full of imperfection's / pockets of crap. Finally got all the salt ground & washed out of the crack & a decent weld on one side, flopped it over & ground down to new metal & laid in a good /final bead. A little grind & paint good as new!

Insurance claim? Should be able to get new or rebuilt parts from an insurance claim. I once got approval for a rebuilt lower unit and paid the difference to buy a new one - and it was my mistake which lead to the damage.
