  • Twin 250 emergency stop, no start afterwards

Running 4200 rpm, made abrupt stop and went to neutral and shut engines off. Engines would not crank afterwards. 2006 250Suziki's. Disconnected power cables, checked plugs, it turns over but will not start. Help stuck in Stuart!

Strange that neither one will fire. But with both motors affected, I'd have to suspect a fuel problem of some sort. Check the primer bulbs.

I might suspect the kill switch. Usually both motors are on one kill switch, that would prevent them both from firing.

Goo luck, let us know what you find.

Ok here are the latest findings from the event. We have checked the fuel pumps and we are getting fuel pressure. We have checked the airflow sensor and it's fully operational. We checked for spark and we don't have a spark. We had a mechanic come look at the problem and he has only repeated the same process we have done. At this point we have charged both battery banks and looking to bypass the kill switch in hopes to resolve the mystery. Any additional viewpoint would be greatly appreciated!

I'm still betting on the kill switch. This will ground out the spark for both motors and is the most common item to cause this.

Good luck. Post back what you find out.

My bet is the neutral throttle switch in the binnacle, which prevents starting in gear.

That is where I would be looking, the abrupt stop may have dislodged it from the correct position of it may have broken or failed for some reason.
