  • mobil 1 oil filter on suzuki DF70A.

Is there any reason I can't use MOBIL M1-103 oil filter in place of the Suzuki OEM? I put it on last weekend and put about 10 hours on the engine with no noticeable difference.

I'm not sure of the exact model of filter needed, but it should be fine.

I've used Fram or aftermarket filters 80% of the time since my first Honda 4 stroke in 1994... No issues and lots of hours on my engines (300 a year I figure)

Be very careful with aftemarket filters.

Make sure that the body of the filter you use doesn't bottom out on the engine block before the oil seal is firmly seated on the mating surface of the engine.

There have been several occasions where after market filters have been fitted where this issue has arisen and the filter feels like it is tight but the seal hasnt seated properly and either leaks badly or the filter actually unwinds itself under pressure, with obvious consequences.
