  • 2003 DF 140 and NEMA 2000?

Is it possible to hook up my 03 df 140 to my new Simrad plotter?

If it's going to cost an arm and a leg I'm not sure its worth it.

I just got the Simrad Go7 XSE. Sweet unit....

    Thanks for any answers.

Read the sticky above that Grant did on NEMA 2000
There is a link that describes what engines work with what chart plotters
Setting up the net work is pretty simple Just a PnP
Most systems now are using a NEMA2000 backbone to tie your components together
It may be as simple as getting the engine interface cable and a "T" connector

Yes, have a read of that thread.

I would also add that recently, Suzuki chaanged the engine interface cables, and you will need to source a cable that can run software version 2.30 for your early year engine.

Approx costs for what you will need to set it up and connect to your GO7xse:
      Interface cable - $130
      Adapter cable (K8 version) $80
      NMEA2000 starter kit $70

Contact Mike at International Marine (Florida) and tell him the hp and year of your motor and ask him to supply the interface loaded with SW V 2.30 plus the other parts required. He seems to be one of the few US dealers who can still source cables that can run SW version 2.30.

I also just got the same Simrad unit. And agree it is indeed a sweet unit!

I just completed this setup for an 04 DF50 and it was absolutely plug and play to my Lowrance HDS 7 Touch. I did not have nearly the problem feeding the cable through the Suzuki grommet as I did with the Yamaha F150 - that was a bear. I sourced my cables separately on eBay for slightly less than mentioned by Moonlighter because I could not find the prices anywhere near those he listed (guess I missed his source) - ultimately, my transactions went OK but I would rather have dealt with a Suzuki dealer so I recommend that route. I also added the Point 1 directional antenna and recommend it.
