Help diagnosing running problem with newer DF9.9A

New here. Recently bought a cottage and it came with a boat with a newer 9.9 4-stroke. I believe it's a 2014 based on the serial #.

The symptoms I am experiencing is that when it's "cold" out (below 20 degrees C) I have problems with it running until the motor warms up. It starts fine, and runs in neutral fine but once I shift it into forward or reverse and you give it even just a little throttle it wants to stall out and will if I don't back off on the throttle. If I let it idle for a while first to get it to warm up it seems to runs fine. Any help would be appreciated!

Since no one with a smaller HP has responded
I don't know a lot about smaller engines but with a larger engine I would suspect a IAC valve adjustment
Suggest getting the full service manual for your engine
It contains a lot of other information you should know anyway
