Loss of power
I have a 1999 25HP Suzuki outoboard. Model DT25C. When I am out on the water and try to run it wide open, it will not go at maximum speed. It appears that there is a loss of power on the top end. I can't even get the boat on plane. I have taken the carbs off and cleaned them. I have cleaned the fuel filter. I have taken apart the fuel pump and made sure it was ok. I have changed out the gas and cleaned the lines. I even replaced the throttle sensor and still it will not run at top speed. I have just now taken the head off and I have noticed that the bottom piston head is severely carboned up while the top two are fairly clean. My question is, is the carbon buildup reducing my top end power or is something else such as the rings causing the carbon buildup and also reducing the power output. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.......
