4" SMIS gauge Problem of fuel calibration

Hi
I would like to adjust the engine fuel consumption on my 2014 Suzuki DF150
+ SMIS 4" gauge

to do a fuel consumption calibration

I did
--> menu menu
----> Fuel Setup
------> Refill Tank

Then normaly at this step it should ask me if I want to recalibrate Yes or NO

But this message recalibration message doesn't appear ....

Any idea ?

They said contact your Suzuki dealer a software update is necessary
I believe that just don't know So the y are sending me to Suzuki it is easier !
When I explained him the calibration procédure
He did not know that a calibration was possible !!

Still no answer from nobody ...

But someone told me that he read somewhere ( but he doesn't remember where !!) that for the new engines Lean Burn since 2012/2013/2014 ?? (he doesn't remember exactly since when )
Well the new engines are automaticly detected by the SMIS gauge and then for those kind of engines it is not possible to do recalibration as we could do before with older engines ...

Is it true or not ?

The SMIS gauges dont "detect" the engine. Indeed, the SMIS "gauges" are in fact merely "displays". The fuel data that they show is largely just data supplied to them by the interface.

The interface is the thing that detects the engine. The interface software has been auto-detecting engines since version 2.5.0 which came out quite a few years ago. This has nothing to do with the engines that are "lean burn".

The interface is the thing that takes the data from the engine's ecu and turns it into fuel flow, fuel used etc. the SMIS just is the means to show users this data. There are only limited calculations done by the SMIS - for example, taking GPS speed data supplied to it by the GPS antenna and combining that with fuel used data from the inteface to calculate fuel economy (mpg or l/km).

The role of the SMIS displays is just like the keyboard on a computer- to enter information and to do things like set up or configure the network and the interface. It doesnt have the brains to detect much else...

I think the issue you are having is a separate problem. I have not seen it reported by anyone else as yet. I will make some inquiries from my sources to see if they are aware of it.

Meanwhile, a Question: when you refill the tank, and set to full, are you enetering the amount of fuel added to the tank at the same time?

OK Moonlighter

Yesterday went to refill the fuel tank


Fuel setup-->enter
-->refill tank --> enter...-->then it come back to the fuel flow display....
Then the fuel level appear full .

So I couldn't enter the amount of fuel ( because it didn't ask me , the view is not displayed)

Same thing for the fuel flow recalibration, which is not displayed
