  • Making Oil

Hello all still having issues with this 2011 DF140. It's making oil. I had the cowl off to check fluids, ect and oil was WAY OVER FULL. I pulled 4.5 qts out of dipstick tube. I ran it for about 10 mins after I drained it and it was over full again. This is the second powerhead, Suzuki had to warranty out the first one. I did a compression test and I have a cylinder dropping pressure. I avg 180psi on 3 cylinders but only have 120psi on #2. I'm trying to get Suzuki to stand by their product but have had no luck so far. If they won't help me out I will be repowering with a different manufacturer and will NEVER return to Suzuki. My main question is.... has anyone come across this before? I checked the lift pump to make sure it wasn't leaking into crankcase, it's not. I don't know where else to look unless it's the #2 cylinders piston rings are being bypassed and raw fuel is going into crankcase. Any ideas???

usually one of two things occur that puts fuel into the crankcase
low pressure pump.. seal leaking fuel
or the high pressure pump.. the float valve gets stuck and when the fuel overflows, so to speak, the excess goes through the breather tube to the crankcase and adds raw fuel to the oil.

low psi in #2 needs checking..
valves may need adjusting.. or a number of other issues
ever have the valve clearances checked?

Did you replace the needle and seat in the VST when you cleaned it out, whats happening the float cant control the level of fuel so it keeps rising till it is sucked up the vapour line into the cam cover and starts filling your crank case with fuel. If it was an injector stuck open you would have a dead miss on no 2 and it would be pouring white smoke out of the prop, yes white smoke. Pull the cam cover off and check the clearance of the valves on no 2. I wouldn't mind betting you have a tight inlet valve on no 2 and that is where your rough engine idle is. Prior to the bad fuel problem was your engine running rough or was it fine. One more thing do you flog this engine eg over 5500 rpm
