So I changed the impeller... In doing that I had to disconnect what I believe is the clutch rod.. engages the lower unit. Ran great last season, but now, can barely get it over 3000 rpms or so..., it just bogs down... is it possible the neutral safety switch is not letting it go over 3000 rpm's, if I did not re attach the clutch rod in the same exact location?? It does seem to go in and out of all gears just fine??
I also when I first put it in the water, motored for about 10 minutes, and it completely died, and would not start back up. I had already changed the low pressure filter... I came back with the high pressure filter, and did get it to start and run... but like I said above, cuts out around 3000 rpms or so... but strangely, after warming up... 15 minutes or so, taking it down to trolling/neutral on and off... I can get the motor to run just fine! I put some sea foam in the tanks... hoping may be I just have something blocking jets, that hopefully might break down with some more use? Any insight from anyone?? Can I have stressed out the high pressure fuel pump because my high pressure filter seemed to have been clogged?? any help would be great!
thanks!
