My 225 efi is having an intermittent problem with the throttle. It runs really good until I get to a long no wake zone. At the end of it I'll get into the throttle and it won't go. 2-3k rpm max. It will also do this after sitting for a period of time. Then all of a sudden it will come alive. I've brought it to two different mech but neither could reproduce the symptom. Um at the end of my rope here. It's a strong engine with tons of power and compression. Please help. Thanks.

Intermittent problems are difficult. It always sounds like one item is going bad, but it could be another. So let's try to rule out possibles.
Have you had any problems with bad fuel? Do you use a good fuel additive when adding fuel?
On the 99's the monitor Guage has a few lights for diagnostics, do any of them flash? If yes, how many times (it should flash two numbers if there is a fault). Please explain which light and the flashes.
If no lights, and no fuel problems, do you have the service manual for your motor? It should list a measurement/distance from the flywheel for the gear counting coil, check that distance to make sure it is correct. Unplug the gear count coil and check it by the book. It has to read each tooth of the flywheel to adjust timing with respect to the tvs(throttle valve sensor).
Good luck. Post back when able.
