My starboard 2008 DF 300 with electronic controls has been running fine since 2009 when I purchased it new. The engine will trip up, but will no longer trim down when hitting the dash control, throttle control, or on engine switch. Replaced the relay on the motor with a new one and problem still there. 12.8 Volts is coming off the relay green lead (up position) when the switch is activated but no voltage then the down switch is activated. I swapped the computer from this engine to the port engine and the problem stayed with the starboard engine, so the computer is fine. Am told that some 2008 Motors had a resister in the wiring harness that may now be faulty.
Not sure where to look for that or how to identify if my motor is one of the few with that resister.
Appreciate any ideas to resolve this matter. Been very happy with the motors. Heading to the islands in 2 weeks for an extended boat trip but dock bound until this problem is resolved.
Thanks!
