  • Oil Leak Pics on New 30hp 4 stroke Help

I now have oil dripping from my motor its a 2015 30hp 4 stroke with about 20 hrs, here is pics of where it coming from, where do you think its leaking.

Its coming from the area where the small brass shaft is located, it is now leaving a good size puddle of oil, see pics.

I am also wondering because I had just replaced my motor oil about a week before leaving on a trip and I filled the oil to slightly under the high mark, not overfilled, even checked after sitting for 3 days and it did not touch the high mark on dipstick, but when I travel the motor is up in a high angle with a transom savor and I wonder if the oil being high went out a vent tube or something, I did notice the oil is down a tad but I have used the boat 3 times so far.

It never leaked while the motor is in the down position.

      oil

This may sound dumb ! but you didn't spill any oil whilst putting new oil in ?

My DF30A sits on the transom bar about 98% of the time, no leaks! I'm thinking spilled during oil change. Wash it off and see if it comes back.

I would remove the cowlings and tilt up to the limit and observe the source of the leak

You may not have spilled any oil while adding, but the filter never comes off clean!

Update on my oil leak :

Changed my oil again to make sure I am at proper level, 1.6qts, cleaned inside motor area real good making sure no spilled oil anywhere, ran motor and than rechecked oil level 30 minutes later and was at proper level, so with that said when I leave my motor in the down position on boat and even while running I have zero leaks, even after sitting for a week, but when I raise my trim/motor up for transportation or just sitting it leaks oil in about 1 hours time, also not very easy to find leak but I suspect its coming from front of motor area.

So it looks as if I have a warranty claim since motor is less than 12 months old.

Now where is my nearest Suzuki outboard authorized repair shop in Las Vegas, Nevada..

My 2016 115 was leaking oil only when the engine was tilted. At the 20hr service it was noticed that a rubber o-ring / washer within the dip-stick housing was split, most likely due to being over tightened in the factory. O-ring replaced and all ok so far. Perhaps this is the cause of your leak. Good luck.
