First thing to check is fuel supply. Dirty fuel or water in fuel is a potential problem and one of the most likely things to happen.

Do you run a water separating fuel filter like a Racor in your fuel lines? If not, you definitely should be!

If you do, drain the filter into a glass jar, check for water and dirt, change the element and check the filters on the motor. If you find water in the racor, or if you dont have one, then you may well need to change the filters on the engine.mand possibly clean the VST.

      fuel

I did look at the filter and it look clean and full of fuel I filled it up with premium
Thinking the gas was from last year . took back to lake still run the same
plugs were all dry and not wet . I'm thinking its a computer trouble ant way to get the code out with out a scanner

If you have a Suzuki analogue tacho with the 3 warning lights on the bottom of it, those lights will flash a sequence if there is a fault detected by the ecu.

The sequence of flashes translate to a code so you know where to look for the problem. Similarly, if you have the digital SMIS gauges, they will bring up a warning message on the screen.

No flashing lights? No messages showing?

Otherwise the only way to get into the ecu to check for errors is via the Suzuki SDS system on a laptop.

You said you looked at the fuel filter - did you actually remove it, drain and check for water/dirt?

The other simple thing you can check yourself is that these new efi engines will not run well if they do not have a very good power supply from the battery.

Any corrosion on the battery terminals or a poorly charged or failing battery and they will run badly. Guaranteed!

So, dont just look at the battery terminals - undo them, clean with a wire brush, inspect the lugs and wires for any sign of corrosion going into the main wires, check that the white wire is also clean and firmly connected, check any connections to your main battery switch (again, undo, clean and reconnect them even if they look good).

Then, charge the battery up fully with a good charger, load test it if its more than a couple of years old.

These are the things you can easily do yourself to try to solve the problem.

These motors are usually incredibly reliable and it is very unlikely that something electronic has failed under normal useage conditions after only a few years use.

Like any engine they need 3 things to run properly:

        1. spark (plus good power to the ecu as noted above)

        2. Good clean fresh fuel

        3. Air.

Yes i did drain and remove filter no water in gas . I also cleaned cables on battery and charged I didn't try a load test on batter And that is still the battery that came with the boat back in 2008 I guess I well take it out and load test it .

                  Fuel ?
If you just topped the tank with premium on top of old gas
Start over Dump the fuel in your car and start with fresh fuel for the boat

Good work, its usually something basic. One bad plug will do it!

My next suggestion was going to be "pull the plugs and see what they look like"! Lol!
