I own twin 2015 175s on a 25.5 Tideline that have 32 hours on them and had their 20 service done about a month ago. A couple of weeks ago I began to get an alarm for the port engine that indicated is was a "3.3" alarm. I would clear the alarm but the continued to be a series of beeps and the engine would not start until I shut off the engine and turned the key to off.
I put the boat in the shop and they could not get the alarm to go off, apparently they cleared the console controls, started the engines and got no alarm. I put the boat in the water and again got the alarm after putting the boat in reverse. I restarted and then motored around for and hour or so, purposely not putting the port engine in reverse and did not receive the alarm until later, without putting the engine in reverse. It appears I am able to start the engine after turning off the key and starting the engine before all the instrumentation "boots up".
Looking it a 3.3 alarm is a problem with the Neutral Safety Switch. Would the first step in the troubleshooting process be to simply replace the neutral safety switch and is there a separate switch for each engine located in the console?
