Suzuki dt 115 idling problems

I have a 1990 dt 115 and when at the house it runs great, but i dropped it in the water last weekend and once in water it starts up but will not stay idling, dies right out. I can throttle it up in water but soon as I drop the throttle lever to put it in gear it dies. I also noticed that my primer bulb before starting will not prime hard... check for any fuel leaks and there is none present... what could be my problem?
