New here on the forum.
Have had a situation that scared me pretty good.
Cranked the boat when leaving to another fishing spot and the oil pressure light was flashing. Shut it down and checked oil level. All was good. 4 hours since oil and filter change. Fresh 10w40 West Marine Synthetic and a NAPA-Wix **** filter. Cranked it up again and light was still flashing but no noise etc.
1/4 mile to marina so I idled back in but the engine was in limp mode. After arriving I remembered the oil service reminder would flash the light so I reset the light and it went out. Engine no longer in limp mode. Left the marina and ran at a normal pace up to 5,000 rpm without a problem.
Seems the oil change reminder shouldn't cause the limp mode.
Bad oil pressure switch maybe??
Open to suggestions.
Thanks
