DT115 messing up my fishfinder

I recently bought a Lowrance Elite 5 Chrip fishfinder. I'm getting electrial interference from the motor(DT115) when it's running. It only happens on Down Scan Imageing at 800Khz.

I called Lowrance and they told me to get a Ferrit choke from Radio Shack and resistor plugs. Aren't all spark plugs resistor, I'm currently using NKG's ?

There is very limited information on the internet. I mostly see Hummingbird and people talking about a Ferrit "Ring" and wrapping cord thur it about 6 times. I bougbt a snap on choke today from Radio Shack, which doesn't look like much.

Any thoughts or idea's how to fix problem?

Have you yet tried the ferrite core? They come in different sizes. So try that first. Might just solve the problem. You should install the core as close to the head unit as possible.

I just bought the Ferrite choke today from Radio Shack and might not get a chance to try it out for a couple of weeks. My house got hit with softball size hail today....lots of clean up in the future.
