I have a 2002 DF140, I mentioned the shift problems here on the forum and nobody seemed to have heard of the problem before. I decided to purchase a take-off lower from a 2007 and install it on my 2002. Everything seems right except the "propeller stopper" (part number 57635-92J01) has a slightly different taper where it meets the propeller shaft and it seems unstable to me. I went on BrownsPoint.com to look at the difference in the part numbers but their microfiche says they have always been the same part from 2002 to 2015.
Any ideas? I haven't had it on the water yet but the season is coming up quick!
