My motor is not going in reverse and the neutral is not working, what could be the cause.?

This is not a lot of information to go on
But I would start with the where the linkage from the remote ties to the shift lever

Have you had the lower unit off recently? Its possible that the vertical shift rod didn't get slid back onto its splines.
