I have a rebuilt 2011 Suzuki 250 df four stroke with approximately 25 hours on it, My check engine light started blinking at a 5-1 pattern and engine will not rev higher than 3000 rpm and revs down, any advice or quick fixes for this problem? Can I run at low rpm without harming motor?

Suzuki installed a neutral safety switch on motors to prevent people from revving above 3k rpms, i guess it must not be good for motor to rev higher?
I'm not sure of the 5-1 code on your motor.

I would NOT be running this motor at all until you have fixed the problem. Logic suggests that having VVT advance on one bank of cylinders and not the other cannot be a good thing......
As to the cause, I have no idea, I suggest you get a qualified Suzuki mechanic to have a look at it. Or at least get get a full Suzuki service manual and see what it says may be the cause.Comment
