old 7.5 help

hi got a old suzuki 7.5 2 stroke 1978
i know its a old outboard but is very clean for its age.
problem is cant get it to run
when i take out the spark plugs and pull to start theres an awfull guss of fuel comes out so its defo flooding the plugs,
everything seems good with compression and spark, fuel pump seems good,
clean the carb numerus times and now have a lend of another carb but its still the same,,
got it to run before but only on high revs as soon as i trottle down it just dies,
any ideas.

Sounds like fuel problem with carb. Did you blow all the air and fuel pas-sages out when cleaned out? Reinstall low speed mixture screw to setting listed in manual? Re-adjust float to proper height?

hi mate,
ya completely blew it threw after cleaning,
float height set and idle mixture screw set at 1.5 turns out from seated,
iv tried varios settings just in case and no joy,
the carb i have n it now came from a running identical engine

Also check your electrical connections, it might be an electrical issue, not carb related.

its a strange one mate,
checked all connections and have a really good bright blue spark,
defo too much fuel comming out the pulg holes
