Just came across your thread. If the tale is still not weeping have your mechanic check front engine cover plate which allows water to contact the casing cover and cool down. If the hose connection appeared unused, it's important to 1check that cover. Apparently the design does not allow for good circulation. I know because mine actually kept water inside the cover which eventually corroded through the casing. Take care

Does any water at all come out of the pee hole? Mine just dribbles out and is normal per a Suzuki mechanic.

The tale tail stream should be very obvious. Mine dribblled then quit altogether. Fortunately I was test running close to the boat launch, I had not run it since the initial repairs were done. Never got the over heat warning nor shutdown because water was circulating just not through that front cover which appears to be a route to the tale tail/ weep hole. Took it back and that's what the service center found. Doesn't look like a real problem to get to, but worth checking. I would advise for all Suzuki owners. Don't give up on the fish...

If you didn't get one when you bought your boat, you might consider getting the owner's manual. I recently got one for my 2007 DF140s. Very helpful. And it's something that can be kept on the boat.

Absolutely...Owners manual is a must. Always to our own advantage to have some knowledge of what makes these tick. Thanks for the reminder

              water flow

Hi remove the starboard cover and coming out of the engine holder you will see a 2" hose with two smaller hoses . These hoses travel around the engine and the exit out the pee hole, first check that the pipe on the engine holder is clear [mine had a lot of build inside]
Once you are convinced that's clear i would get some water up that small hose and see if there's any water flowing, these small 6mm hoses that cool various components and the entry and exit points are tiny and easily blocked

Greetings catacom225, the 6mm hoses you refer to, do they come to /from front cover plate? As you may have read on my thread, those small hoses did indeed plug off causing salt water to corrode my engine casing. I would continue exploring through the cooler water routes as you suggested. Thanks for the info.

So I was finally able to get this into a boat mechanic to have it looked at. I had been following everyones advice, but I just felt more comfortable taking it to the mechanic, as I was getting a 100hr service done to it anyway. Even though it was not at 100 hours yet, the prior owner did not seem to take very good care of it for the short time he had it.

Turns out everything was clogged clogged clogged, and then some. Had to take the whole cooling system apart pretty much and jam a thick copper wire though it all to get it cleared up. Lots of silt/sand build up in all the lines. Seems to me the prior owner never flushed it with fresh water, and liked running in shallow sand or up onto the beach. It is now peeing, boat mechanic did say not as strong as he would hope for, but it should get better the more I run it.

Thanks again for all the advice and I now know a lot more about the motor itself. I flush it after every run in the salt water, so hopefully I can keep it from clogging back up. If it does I imagine the info on this thread will help me clear it back up.

Sorry to hear about the condition, but glad you pursued it further. Not so fortunate in my situation. As mentioned earlier, think its a bad design on Suzuki's part to have such small holes and nipples being used for cooling water routes. Still waiting on repair estimates to repair corrosion hole in my engine casing underneath the cooling water plate, hoping enough talk and findings would get Suzuki's attention and move them to offer some kind of repair help$$$. Take care...

                      Df 140

If things where that bad I would suggest cleaning the oil cooler
