2.5 hp Suzuki

I have a new 2.5 hp Suzuki that I was running in a tub during break in period. It did have a strong stream coming from the pilot water hole, but now it is greatly diminished. Also, exhaust is now reduced at propeller and now is above the water discharge.
Any suggestions?

is the water in your "tub" still above the cavitation plate?

is running the engine in a tub in any way causing exhaust to be cycled into the water intake and possibly replacing cooling water ?

Water is above cavitation plate and the water is cool to the touch.
