Thanks Chris...it seems you should be good to go. It'll be a couple of weeks before I can get in to see the dealer and have the gauges and cables checked out for the correct sw version. I'll report back then.
    Thanks again Moonlighter

Probably i need a lowrance or simrad MFD as Moonlighter mentioned to check the true software version, but i don't have only Garmin stuff.

      I hope that helps!

Chris, if the interface cable has a 3.5.0 sticker on it, then it should be the latest version, unless someone downgraded it. Unlikely. So your setup should work, with the 2.7 gauge and 3.5.0 interface sw. I havent seen other reports of conflicts between 2016 engines and that software combination.

Note: how many SMIS displays do you have? Each of them has to be separately checked and each one has to have its software updated individually. So double check them all to make sure SW V 2.7 is installed.

The only other reason I have been hearing for strange error codes on the recent 250/300 engines is sometimes due to a faulty O2 sensor that is replaced und warranty. Has your dealer checked that?

Keep us posted on progress, especially if they are able to find a solution or if a new interface or SMIS update is released. (Get a copy if you can!)

        Hi Moonlighter,
        thanks for your reply.
I trust Outboard Specialities that the know what they do and that they did not downgraded the Suzuki Engine Interface software.
Yes, i have 4 SMIS 4'' gauges, 2 down and 2 on the upper station and all have the same software:
        version 2.7.1
        Boot 1-1.70
        Build MZ1561

This problem seems to apear only if it's a 2016 engine using SMIS gauges and is rather unknown as probably all of them get delivered with the new C10 gauges and not SMIS gauges.

I just choosed SMIS gauges as there is a lot of people complaining about fogging issues with the C10 gauges, so i prefered to go with the SMIS gauges.

The engines run perfectly fine and i get a check engine pop-up and when i hit enter then i see a list of all possible imaginable errors showing up.
Also when i scan the engines i have a perfectly clean fault records page, so the errors must be in the engine interface or SMIS gauges and not in the engine itself as they would be stored in the ecu.
For this reason i don't think that there is a problem with the oxygen sensor, but i will scan them today and see if the values are normal just to exclude this possibility.

I will install new propellers this morning so i can scan the engines to check the oxygen sensor values and let you know later!

        Chris

I went to the boat and checked the Software on my Garmin 7610 xsv and surprisingly it shows the interface software.
          Model: 3.0.0
          Software: 3.5.0 MR550R
          Serial #: 35392 + 37647

          I hope this helps!

Ok, thats all good, you have confirmed your interfaces are running the latest interface software.

So it seems a conflict is still happening. Let us know what Outboard Specialties comes up with, especially if another new SW update is released for the SMIS displays!

Interface cables 3.5 installed, boat ran great for 30 mins or so. Idling up to put the boat on the trailer and you guess it....Check engine alarm (code 3.5) so back to the drawing board. Dealer is racking his brain trying to get this fixed.
My guess is its something so simple its getting overlooked.

Chris: Did you get your problem fixed?

                Unfortunately not,
but the boat is stored out of the water beeing "winterized" for the next 6 months as will go back to Italy for the summer season there.
But i am looking foreward to get the update solving this problem and i am sure that Outboard Specialities is working with Suzuki to solve this.
If not, then i may get a free, non fogging C10 gauge from Suzuki as this will solve the issue???
As the SMIS gauges and engine interface is built by Lowrance there may be a delay, but who knows...
                xing fingers!

Finally....got all the gauges upgraded to 2.7 along with the 3.5 interface cable and after 3 hours on the water, no ghost codes and all systems playing together nicely. Hopefully we have this problem solved. Thanks Moonlighter for the installation information on the SMIS gauges, etc. Chris hope you get your issues resolved.

                    Well done Andy!

Now just one last job to do, which is to do the fuel consumption test that Ive mentioned in many other threads, to make sure the fuel flow is calibrated right.

Basically, fill the tanks to full, rest the system, then go fishing and burn a good amount of fuel, the more the better. Try for 1/4 tank minimum. Then note how much the system says youve burnt, refill the tanks at the gas station and compare predicted vs actual. Should be within 2-3% of each other.
